What is a Seed Library?
- A Seed Library is a FREE resource for Seaford Library cardholders ONLY! (LIBRARY CARD MUST BE IN GOOD STANDING)
- Library card cannot be expired AND/OR have fines of $5.00 or more.
- Only Adult Library cards can be used. (Not Juvenile or YA)
- A seed library helps both new and seasoned gardeners begin and/or add to their gardens.
- Experience is not necessary to begin planting; all a person needs is a valid library card and the desire to plant.
What are the benefits of a seed library?
- It helps people get outside or bring some of the outdoors inside.
- It provides patrons with a sense of pride and a sense of accomplishment, knowing they grew something with their own two hands.
How does it work?
- Patrons present their Seaford Library card at the reference desk.
- You can choose up to 3 packets of seeds per month, per family.
- The seed packets are available at the Reference Desk.
- Seed germination cannot be guaranteed by the library.
- Cardholders are limited to ONE packet of each variety of seed.
- The Seed Library is a first come- first served basis, while supplies last.

Do I Have to Return Seeds?
No. The Library does not require that you save and return seeds. However, we would love to see photos of your garden or hear stories about your success! Please email your photos at [email protected]
